Day 249 - Church Birdhouses

I only have 3 more of these unfinished birdhouses...so back on track.  I decoupaged 2 of them and then began to cut the paper to cover another one.  Here they are!

Day 248 - Ok, so I could stock a grocery store....

It is handy to make these at the end of the day especially when I don't have much time or energy.  I am thinking that I am on the upswing of feeling better and will attempt going to Target tomorrow morning before work!  Over a month since going anywhere!
The Night Before Christmas is actually larger than the 1" scale but it has the complete story in it!
The bigger Checkers box now has a bottom, and there is a 2nd American Plastic Checkers, Pampers, Club and Ritz crackers, Betty Crocker Cake Mix, Hotess Cup Cakes and Chunk Cookies.

Day 247 - Getting my Grove back???

I had enough energy (and desire) to vacumn the whole house and fall clean one section of my kitchen cupboards!!!  I think that there might be hope yet to conquering this pneumonia!!  While taking a break I did make some more minis today and that was all the creativity I had time for with work etc.

The list for today: Domino Sugar, Duncan Hines Bluberry Muffin Mix, Triscuits, Howdy Doody game, a box of Magic tricks, Lionel train set and a game of Just Sticks.

I am hopeful that at some point in time I will move on to something else more creative but these are simple like the yo-yo's (although I am almost out of glue!).

Day 246 - Tired Paper Minis

After a long day at work I am exhausted (again/still).  The most that I was able to do is a few more paper minis.  A old style Coleman cooler, Robin Hood Flour, Donny and Marie Paperdolls, 3 retro games: Minibrix, The New Game of Ludo and Memory.

I also spent a bit of time on the computer looking at a couple of web sites of talented people that make all kinds of different miniatures.  Time for early bedtime again....

Day 245 - Weekend at St Croix State Park

Quiet Sunday with a lazy day feel to it.  This is our last camping weekend of 2010 and there is a bit of sadness that comes with that.  The state parks turn off their water the end of October so there isn't much time left anyway for us to camp.  This is the end of our 4th year of owning the T@B and what a wonderful trailer it has been for us to start memories of camping without the children... Gave tours to 4 different people this weekend which is always fun.

Made some more yo-yo's on the way home....

Day 244 - Weekend at St Croix State Park

Slept in and had a wonderful breakfast.  Drove into Hinkley and looked at the little town.  Many trees turning colors up north already!  Checked out the RV park at Mistic Lake Casino on the way back to the park- definitely NOT for us!  Had a fire and roasted hot dogs and coconut marshmellows for dinner.  When the  wood was gone it was chilly andwe headed in for a Netflix movie.  Bed by 9:00 and 75 comfortable degrees!

Rare, old classic sign in the park-
even has some bullet holes in it!

Hot dogs over the fire.

Some more yo-yo's make it a perfect low key day.

Day 243 - Weekend at St Croix State Park

Drove up to Hinkley, MN after work on Friday to have a quiet weekend trying to recouperate from this pneumonia and Michaels cold.  Took 2 1/2 hours and was down to 52 degrees when we arrived!  Luckily we had reservations and electricity which is a treat for us!  Got set up and headed in to watch a movie in our little T@B trailer where it was 75 degrees and so cozy!

Our little T@B trailer.

I made yo-yo's in the car on the way up.

Day 242 - Craft Group Night

Went to Carol's house for craft night.
Verna worked on some beautiful cards,
Lois was starting a bracelet,
Carol making a beaded votive holder and I did a
couple more paper minis.
For some reason my photos are always "off" at craft night...

Here is a close up of the mini's: Fantasy Doll House,
 Fibber McGee Game,
Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head,
 Oatmeal Cream Pies and
Cosmic Brownies.

Day 241 - Just a "little" crafting...

Between work and new member class at church tonight there wasn't much time for
any kind of crafting.
Did a "little" bit tonight- more paper minis!
3 little grocery bags (I will try and crease them when they are totally dry),
a box of Woolite for those delicate clothes, Vanilla Almond cereal,
Honey Bunches of Oats and a box of Kashi Go Lean Crunch.

That's it for tonight as I must get to bed at a decent time.

Day 240 - Back to work today

Back to work after a 2 week fight of pneumonia
and 6 days off as sick days (PTO).
I had been thinking I would have to take my vacation time without my husband.
Well, no more worry about that-
used it as sick time instead...UGH.
Awfully tired tonight.
Sewed the last of the 3 church aprons this morning.

Tonight when I got home Michael had the computer set to watch
a movie and while we did that I worked on making some more
paper minis: Twinkies, Premium Saltines, Tide, Pepperidge Farm
Chocolate cookies, Little Debbie Devil Cream cakes and
Pepperidge Farm Chunk Mini cookies.
Time for bed...night.

Day 239 - Church Aprons, Paper Minis

My last day off work.  Still coughing but up all day.
Not a busy as a feeling 100% day
but I did do some quiet crafting.
Made 2 of the 3 aprons I was commited to make for church.
One is a "Tea" theme and the other is a BBQ theme.

I made some more paper minis.
Wish I could figure out a better way to photograph these-
it is something I really have to work at...
a Halloween bag, box of Minute Rice, box of Ponds cold cream.

A clock, an "old style" computer keyboard and tower,
Ding Dongs, Grape Nuts cereal, Special K cereal,
top of a box of Checkers and Chess, a box of Olay face cream
and a box of 12 Taco Bell taco shells.

Day 238 - Plugging ahead

A quiet Sunday here- again at home but
my Mom came to visit which was a day brightener.
Spent my day mostly engrossed in making paper minis again...
Did put another coat of poly on my mini fairy door from Micaela.

Sewed the apron ties and neck loop for an apron for church.

And then there are the minis...
This is a set of 8 sewing cards in their box
and a Little Golden book called We Help Mommy

This is a box with pizza in it, a menu from the pizza place,
a box of spagetti and a box of pasta.
Same photo but the pizza box is closed.

Two (uncut) sheets of paper dolls and
a complete set of a Joan Walsh Anglund paper doll and 10 sheets
of clothing in their own little box/book.

Two little bags of the good expensive cookies.

And finally (and I don't know what I will do with this)
a charming little lean-to barn.

I could do this forever...and all out of paper!

Day 237- Still not right....

Well, back to urgent care and more mandatory days off work and stronger antibiotics.  Still am far from being "right".  Well, my rear end is getting sore from being a couch potato so today I was up and in the
studio.  Not working at full speed but working none-the-less.  Kind of jumped from thing to thing but
made some little progresses on several fronts.

I think I got 6 rows of this even weave fringe chuch quilt sewn together-

Got several more of the church birdhouses in various
stages of doneness-

This one will have little flowers glued to the base like the other
one that I did with the same papers.

And then worked on a couple of paper minis:
a gallon of ice cream, a bag of cookies and the
Edwards piece of frozen pie I couldn't quite
figure out tonight...

And my budy was with me most of the day...

Day 236 - Just a little bit...

Back to work today after being off for 5 days fighting pneumonia...I am exhausted...
All I could muster this morning was to lay out the even weave blocks for the
fringe lap quilt for the church bazaar.

Blocks all stacked in "random" order and ready to be sewn.

Pete was NOT helping on this and was put out of the bedroom because
she was misbehaving (as is her usual behavior when laying out blocks...).

She also has been running away from me the last 5 days when
I would have a coughing fit.  NOT being very supportive during my sickness.

Day 235 - Last Day to Recover- Birdhouses

I spent this day being very quiet at home.  Read, watched TV, read some more.  After dinner tonight I headed to the studio and am feeling some better.  My cough continues to be a problem.  I puttered a bit on the next couple of birdhouses for church.  Feels good to not be feeling so awfull.

Feeling out of sorts...

Days have passed and I have been sick.
 Ended up having pneumonia.
Fever has finally passed but the exhaustion and endless coughing
still persists.  I long to sew.

Day 234 - Studio, birdhouses

This morning I did some more serious organizing and cleaning in the studio.  I feel as if I am making some real and "seeable" progress.  Still more to go through but things are finding their homes.

Reworked a couple of almost finished birdhouses and my photos
just didn't turn out well- my battery is dying and perhaps
that is the problem  I also think I am getting sick...
