Week 3 Cutting again.

I have been doing a fair amount of cutting when I have had a chance.  I have 80 8" blocks cut for a church quilt.  Just have to figure out the pattern.  There are 3 different colors.
I have been cutting out 9" random floral blocks to make a church quilt also.
Whenever I do a bunch of cutting like this the extras are cut into various sizes and here is what I have in the last few days.
My constant companion was with me tonight...

Challenging week 2

I have struggled with being ill since Tuesday and it is the end of Saturday! Even missed 2 days of work...did nothing those days...and today wasn't much different.
Last weekend and a couple of times early in the week (lunch breaks) I started working on a little counted cross stitch that I was given for Christmas this year.
Pete was with me all the hours I have spent doing nothing and feeling awful...
We shared blankets and the space heater.

Finished sewing little blocks

Tonight I finished sewing all of the little blocks.
This is all of them.
Began trimming them up.
Looks like I will go with a 3 1/2" square so they should
be 3" when sewn together.  I think I will have to find an interesting
fabric to cut into 3 1/2" blocks to go between them as they are pretty wild.
I wonder how many I have all together and what kind of a pattern I can put them in...

Sewing again!

It always is a good day sewing!  I made new curtains for the bathroom window.  They have been just white muslin for about 20 years.
We just repainted the bathroom (was it 3 or 4 coats to cover white with white??)
Decided we needed a change.  I found these curtains at a thrift store and remade them the fit the window.  Michael and I both agree they are still a little too sheer on the bottom.  We should be able to get by for a while with it being winter but will have to find a solution of some kind...  I do like the color though it is strange after so many years of just white.
Of course the new year wouldn't be complete without Pete in the sewing room today.
And her favorite spot - on the ironing board.
Did some assembly sewing on some tiny squares that are not cut even and are so old...who could have possibly cut all of these out......(me).
Good to get something going with them.

2012 - 52 Weeks of Crafting

I am working on an all wool felt table topper.  So far I have the base cut out, have cut and sewn 8 baskets, 8 stars and today sewed on 64 little flowers.  This photo isn't very good but will have many more to come before this project is completed!
Just to clarify the goal for the new year:
I will do some kind of crafting and blog about it
each week of the year for 52 weeks.
Let's see how this goes.
Should be a breeze compared to 2009
when I did 365 days of crafting!!
Happy New Year!
