End of the week

Have done some more cutting as well as worked on the little counted cross stitch from Christmas.

Challenging week 2

I have struggled with being ill since Tuesday and it is the end of Saturday! Even missed 2 days of work...did nothing those days...and today wasn't much different.

Last weekend and a couple of times early in the week (lunch breaks) I started working on a little counted cross stitch that I was given for Christmas this year.

Pete was with me all the hours I have spent doing nothing and feeling awful...

We shared blankets and the space heater.

Time Flies

Well, it has been 2 weeks since I last posted!  Two weeks on the new job and still haven't figured out how to make the small amount of time at home work for me.  I have been doing a few things along the way.  Went on a weekend to Breezy Point.  Learned what a bildge pump was and how it works.

Saw another watertower in the shape of a bobber (is this one that you have Carol?).

Bought curtain fabric for the dollhouse childs room and kitchen.

I also have been cleaning and located a few more pieces that I had for the dollhouse.

Finished a small counted cross stitch piece at work during my lunch breaks.

And sewed together some upholstery samples that were too pretty to throw away.

I might make this into a fall table runner.

and then there is Pete...

Archivers Tuesday

Met my craft group at Archivers today and actually completed 5 pages of my new (huge) project.  This one has been long overdue in getting started and will be a JOY when completed.  Must be kept under wraps for now.  Here is a photo of 2 of my friends at Archivers.  Verna and Roxanne.

Carol and Lois were busy using the die cutters.

This evening I did some more sewing and ironing on the 3" strip quilt.  It is beginning to look like a quilt!

Had a great dinner out with a dear friend...

There is so much to be said about what a blessing a friend is

who will listen and accept me just where I am and with all of the

baggage that I am carrying at that particular moment.

Managed a little time between

 some Christmas shopping and work today.

And-how can 30 degrees feel like a spring day?

Only in Minnesota.

Day 316 - Little progress

Did a bit of cross stitch- not much.

Did get a good start on the decorating for Christmas.

Day 314 - Cross stitch and packages

A little more done this morning-

Also got some packages mailed for Christmas.

Idaho, Montana, Florida and Nevada

Watched a bit of Holiday Inn.

Only spent about an hour today on this- can you see the progress?

Micaela has stayed overnight and has been baking up

a Christmas storm!!

Day 312 - Each Day a New Adventure

Well, we have a snowstorm!  Here I am attempting to clear the driveway!

I think that we got about 15 inches of snow from last night to about 5:00 pm.

The snow has stopped but the wind continues and the temps are beginning to drop.

This morning my backyard bunny was out.  You can see the bush behind her

that she has been eating on a regular basis.

Day 308 - Cross Stitch

Well, more of the same.  It is surprizing how calming this cross stitch is for me.  Today was a hard day at work with some pretty bad news and this cross stitching has mellowed me out.  Sure is good to have some interests outside of work...

Guess this little cross stitch piece has really drawn me in...photo is blurry but did some more on it tonight.

The other "event" of the evening was my

first 3 way skype call!  My daughter Micaela, my husband Michael

(who was upstairs at the time) and myself- some good laughs...

Day 306 - Cross Stitching

After church today we went to a Church of Latter Day Saints and walked through a beautiful display of 460 different nativity sets.  Here are a couple of my favorites.

Day 305 - Counted Cross Stitch

Did a bit more on the new counted cross stitch piece.

Look what my Dad made for me for the studio!

It is a wonderful place to store/display my quilts-in-progress

and completed quilt tops!

Michael installed it today in the studio.

At this point in time I have 4 quilt tops ready to go and the last rung

is the strips for the 2 church quilts ready to be sewn together.
