Besides having lunch with a friend and doing a little shopping I got some 5" blocks cut for another quilt. This are all solid colors from fabric samples. Might look kind of like a rainbow quilt. We will see someday.
Our mind once stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimensions....

Discipline vs. Crafting
I had not completed all of my ironing since before my daughter moved back home on Memorial weekend (and subsequently has moved out to Yellowstone National Park). Yup, this is a true confession. I have only gotten away with this because the season changed and what I had left was all of the long sleeve dress shirts that my husband wears and all of my long sleeve workshirts. So there was no pressure to complete the task. I have kept up fairly well with the short sleeve shirts and only had one short sleeve shirt to do this evening. So tonight, at the end of my 4th week of the new job, the shirts are completed!
*sigh* does that feel good or what.

I did have company the entire time as well as feel good Netflix movie called
The Last of the Airbenders.
Now it is time for some well needed sleep.
I am looking forward to tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.
(Sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite.)

More Jumbo Blocks
It was a 9 hour work day with no lunch break...brutal. That will be my every Tuesday. Managed to squeeze in making 2 more strip pieced blocks tonight. I always feel better after being creative and sewing is such good therapy for me!! Plus, there is the promise of rain tonight- that is a reward in itself!
Here are the 2 from tonight and last nights sewing.

Quilt Blocks Jumbo Size
When feeling down in the dumps-Saw some tree branches, watch an old episode of the tv series "Beauty and the Beast" and do a bit of power sewing on a BIG scale. These blocks are 12" square. That is big compared to my 8 1/2" squares on the last strip quilt.

A "Litttle" Sewing
Finally got the dollhouse curtains made! Made a little green valance for the childs room today. It is only hanging up temporaily as I am still unable to locate my windows to install! I know I put them into an envelope and I just can't find them. So they are up with some sticky tac for the time being. I would like to make a small quilt to hang on the wall next to the window.
This somewhat blurry photo is of the little chalkboard that I painted and added 3 dimensional stars to. It will hang opposite the window on the wall next to the door. (I need to make some chalk for it.)
I also made the curtain for the kitchen. It too is hung temporarily for the same reason.
This is an "ice chest" that I bought years ago and will attempt to make it into another cabinet/shelf for the sewing room. I will keep you up on the progress I make with "bashing" it.

A little project
Well, I am in need of a work project so started this little quilt. Doesn't look like much now but it is supposed to be some mountains. Then some aspen trees. We shall see.

Time Flies
Well, it has been 2 weeks since I last posted! Two weeks on the new job and still haven't figured out how to make the small amount of time at home work for me. I have been doing a few things along the way. Went on a weekend to Breezy Point. Learned what a bildge pump was and how it works.
Saw another watertower in the shape of a bobber (is this one that you have Carol?).
Bought curtain fabric for the dollhouse childs room and kitchen.
I also have been cleaning and located a few more pieces that I had for the dollhouse.
Finished a small counted cross stitch piece at work during my lunch breaks.
And sewed together some upholstery samples that were too pretty to throw away.
I might make this into a fall table runner.
and then there is Pete...

Making a bed
First day of being fully employed again! Didn't have much time tonight to do too much so I worked on making some linens for the toddler bed. I would like to have an actual quilt on this bed but that will have to wait. For the time being there is a mattress with a sheet, pillow and a "coverlet". Not sure if the coverlet should be tucked in or hanging out...

Happy July 4th!
Did a bunch of yard work and made a little time for minitatures! Painted the drawer handles and feet green (a couple of coats) and cut matching pieces of wallpaper to line the drawers in the dresser.
Also, cut some 18" fat quarters and rolled them up and put them in a basket for the sewing room. Found this little 3 legged "tipping" table for the house that I had made (simple and out of "punch out" plastic).

First Coat...
Got the first coat of paint on today. Might have to do something different around those drawer pulls as the pink is still showing through.

Endings and Beginnings
After a storm tonight I bet there was a rainbow somewhere. My folks are without power but we are fine. There is truth that Friday is the best day of the weekend. The entire 3 days loom ahead filled with anticipation and possibilities. The house is decorated with buntings and flags ready to celebrate the 4th of July. Instead of a movie I dug into my numerous boxes of dollhouse this and that. I found the little dresser I bought on sale for the childrens room and the punch out snap together toddlers bed. Here they are before anything is done to them. I think I have my work cut out for me! The dresser colors have to be changed and the bed has to be painted and bedding made.
