Started sewing the body parts for the doll that Micaela and I are making.
Our mind once stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimensions....

Day 347 - More cutting fabric!
Remember that huge bag of fabric I brought home from church a couple of weeks ago? I spent some more time cutting it up today. Here is my basket of strips ready to be made into a strip quilt.
Here is what is remaining in the big bag from church.
Did some work on sorting through some more of the packed up boxes from the remodeling and decided it was time to hang some things up in the sewingroom.
I almost forgot- I visitied a friend and I restrung 2 beaded
bracelets for her...

Day 345 - More Strip Quilting
My morning started with seeing our 2 bunnies frolicking in the snow on the deck out the kitchen window!
It does take a while to make enough blocks for a quilt of any size so again today, more blocks made.

I had an exciting box in the mail yesterday!
I ordered (finally after years of waiting)
the electrical fixtures for my dollhouse.
I also ordered new siding.
I had applied siding years ago but then pulled
it all off as I wasn't pleased with it. So, this will work better.
A few other odds and ends....
Croquet set, garden hose, electric and gas meter, some
"milk glass" and a teapot for the stove.

Day 344 - Counted Cross Stitch
Did just a bit of outlining on this counted cross stitch piece.
Had a great dinner out with a dear friend...
There is so much to be said about what a blessing a friend is
who will listen and accept me just where I am and with all of the
baggage that I am carrying at that particular moment.
Thanks for the listening ear.

Day 343 - Strip quilting
Was able to sew up 7 blocks today and here is a photo of them.
(Did you notice that I laid the pattern out wrong?)

Day 342 - Christmas gift tags
I finished cutting up that big stack of free Christmas cards into gift labels.
I am continuing to inventory all of Michaels
Yellowstone National Park collection. I have been
meaning to do this for years and with the possible
redecorating of our family room and having to take
most of them down off the walls it seems like a good time
to get to it. Here are just a couple.
A cedar box, china plate, and guest soap from the hotel in the 1970's.

Day 341 - Strip quilting
Was able to sew up 6 more strip blocks. I enjoy doing these. The yellow I added from my fabric is a little bright but then that one purple is awfully dark too- looks black in the photo...
I finished this 1000 piece jigsaw over breakfast this morning.

Day 340 - Strip Quilting
Most of my day was spent putting away Christmas. When you pack it away do you get this messy?
When I ate my meals I sat at the table and did some work on the puzzle.
I was able to do some sewing too.
Ended up making 6 blocks! These are 8 1/2 x 8 1/2".

Day 339 - A New Strip Quilt
In some of the huge bag of small fabric pieces I brought home from church there was a bunch of precut strips. They are green, blue, purple and a bit of yellow.
So tonight I tried sewing random strips from this basket into a strip quilt.
What do you think??
Might need to look in my yellow stash and perhaps some more lavendars/pinks to give it a bit more pizzaz.

Day 338 - Sewing
Started the day working a bit more on the Coke puzzle. Last night Michael, myself and Micaela spent some time working on it also.
I finished sewing all of the blocks together for the pink church quilt.
Pete did some exploring in the studio....
After work I ran into JoAnns to get some batting as it is 50% off this week.
Then stopped into Archivers and bought these!
The little cardboard book to make is the shape of our
little T@B trailer.
The stickers are retro camping and the little camping
cards will be great with a camping page. I have a gift
card that I was able to use to buy them!

Day 337 - Cold Sewing
It is -1 right now and chilly in the basement studio...sewed up some more blocks. The ones in the top pile are complete and the bottom pile needs the last strip sewn onto them.
Here is a look at this beast of a jigsaw puzzle we started New Years.
Still have a ways to go.

Day 336 - Sewing
Today was long at work. Had another "minute meeting" with the office manager....Frustrating.
Here's a question: why can't we all work at jobs we love????
Just did an hour or so of sewing tonight on the pink church quilt. Got all of the squares up to the
3 different fabrics and began sewing on the 4th fabric on some.

Day 335 - Cutting and sewing
Cut out body parts for 2 small identical dolls. They are from a pattern by elinor peace bailey. Micaela and I are each going to be making one. We are goaling for the body to be sewn and assembled by the end of February.
Also did some sewing on the church quilt.
Made some progress on the red puzzle too....

Day 334 - More sewing
My day began by looking out of my window and seeing these in the backyard....
Pete and I had a good time watching.
They are living under our deck this winter.
I started taking some of the Christmas decorations down today.
This was part of the mantel display.
It is our version of a winter campground.
And some of the milkglass with a touch of Christmas.
Did some more sewing and cutting on the church quilt too.
These are left to sew the 3rd fabric on.

Day 333 - Serious sewing
It snowed again most of the day.
Light, powdery snow-globe snow again.
Light, powdery snow-globe snow again.
We broke a record for snow today: over 50"!!! How cool is that!!
Spent a couple of hours tonight sewing
tiny fabric pieces together.
tiny fabric pieces together.
I sewed together everything that was cut.
Still need to iron them all out.
Still need to iron them all out.
Now I have to do some cutting of the strip fabric and
the little burgandy print fabric.
My sewing companion was napping and snoring while I worked.
When she woke up from her nap she mews to let me
know she is up because my back is to the ironing board
while I am at the sewing machine.

Day 332 - Pink Church Quilt
When I was digging through the huge bag of tiny pieces of fabrics from church I came across a bunch of small pieces cut identically out of 3 fabrics.
I found a 4th fabric from my stash and tried it out with the others.
I don't know if I will have enough to do all of the blocks but we will give it a good try.
So today I started the process of massive chain sewing.
So I got through maybe half of the pile today...

Day 331 - Different Crafting....
Some more computer work tonight along with some "different crafting". This was needed for an upcoming project that has to stay on the hush for now. A little more practice working with Publisher program which is a good thing. Had the assistance of Michael and Pete also which made it happy work.
How about one more little item hanging in the sewing room?
