Day 38 - Quilt Paper Pieced

Did a bunch of straightening, filling more holes in the wall, vacuming, took the kids out to eat after the 28 K (18 mile) City of Lakes Cross Country Ski Lopppet, watched the superbowl (yawn)...Just did a bit of work on this tiny quilt after I reorganized the sewing table. I felt lucky that I could find all of the pieces and instructions in the chaos... Hard to get in the sewing rythum as everything is in different places- its good but different.
So here is the sewing table before I reorganized it-
And here is the after- is there really any difference????

Day 37 - Cross Stitich

Spent most of the day in the basement...didn't leave a lot of time for crafting and didn't get as far as I had hoped.  Anyway, here is the cross stitch...
This is what I worked on today in the basement: the walls behind my storage shelves.  This wall is a NIGHTMARE as it was used as some kind of dartboard and is full of holes.  I worked until my hand began to cramp up filling and then had to stop and only maybe a fourth done....

This is what my husband accomplished and it is HUGE! Yup, we have a new window in tonight!
Just some finish work left to do...

Day 36 - Counted Cross Stitch

Well, I have had an unmotivated friday evening...Did a tiny bit of cross stitch.  This morning I emptied a big shelf unit in the basement and then pulled it away from the wall.  Filled the holes in the paneling and then oiled the area behind the shelves.  Also washed the floor in that location. Tonight I got it pushed back into place and decided that everything in it should be gone through and cleaned/organized. What a chore- only partly done...wow, I am a pack rat and saver...

Day 35 - Counted Cross Stitch

Did yet some more on the cross stitch as I now have such a mess I can't do much else.  Will try and get to a better place this weekend....
Basement/Studio update:
This morning I decided to work on some more walls-filling holes and applying lemon oil.  I pulled my computer desk away from the wall, as well as a stack of wooden crates. Not much space to work but wow, does that paneling look great.  I must scrub the floor underneath before I move back into place.
The white paint sheet is covering my sewing table which is pulled away from the wall and yep, those are my sons racing tires that have to be inside for the winter.

This is my computer table and the stack of crates that I moved out today to work on the wall behind.  I have to move the bookcase/desk in the corner too but have to at least empty half of it to be able to move it.

Day 34 - Counted Cross Stitch

Once again got a late start on my daily crafting so picked up the "standby" and did some cross stitch,
Had dinner tonight with a dear friend and we exchanged Christmas gifts.
Look at the wonderful handmade pottery pin cushion!
It will be fun to find a home for it once the basement studio is complete.
Never can have too many pin cushions...

Day 33 - Counted Cross Stitch

Met with a friend tonight to discuss a joint project most likely using a jelly roll and a free pattern.  She already has her jelly roll purchased and I will share mine with you when I have it.  So, just worked a bit on the counted cross stitch project...

Day 32 - Beading

So just a bit of finishing on this necklace tonight.  I got the "tassels" put on.  We will have to see how this is to wear and wether the concept needs to be tweeked.  It sparkles like the new snow we have today.
And then there is my faithful companion- Pete.
