Day 288 - Cross Stitch

Worked just a bit on the cross stitch project tonight.

Here is the lampshade that I completed for the downstairs bathroom (finally).

The shelf for my sewing area that I repainted....

This is the uncovered wall in the basement that I filled all of the holes in and then oiled it twice with English oil.  The plywood standing against the wall is for the new built in shelf unit in the next photo.

Finally, the "hole in the wall" to the shop area-

we are going to make a shelf to put my CD player and CD's and DVDS on.

Day 287 - Church Quilters

Well, things are becoming rather frenzied with the church quilters. We met tonight at 6:30 to do some more projects.  There was a star quilt being tied, table runners being cut, sewn, pinned, turned, ironed and sewn some more. An apron was cut out, some more returned unsewn, some new quilts in various stages being given to the quilting group as well as some funeral cake being eaten.  It was chaotic as well as fun.  Lots of energy along with some aches and pains.  What a wonderful group of women. They give so much.

Day 286 - Bathroom Lampshade

Well, the yucky project is done!!!  I totally remade the pattern for the lampshade (with an inch added to length) and then forced myself to figure out how to cut and sew it up.  It is on the lamp in the basement bathroom and I am pleased with how it looks.  Another not-much-fun project but the last on a list that I started in January of this year. YEAH!

Day 285 - More Odds N Ends

Decided that the pattern for the lampshade needs to be lengthened by one inch so added an inch only to discover that the entire pattern for the scallops now has to be redone too! :-(
Wet the paper on the back of the beaded picture that I framed so that is now nice and dry and tight.  Then painted a hanging shelf for the basement.
Also for the basement I filled holes on one wall and oiled the entire wall.  Cleaned out one window well and washed the window.  Michael measured/planned/purchased plywood to make the built in shelf unit for the CD player.  Also installed new phone system around the house with 4 phones.

Day 284 - Odds N Ends

We will be without a photo for a couple days because I loaned my camera to Micaela who is on a trip to Ohio for work.  Tonight I made 8 flower pens for work and mounted the beaded picture that I finished not to long ago on foam core board.  I have about 1/4 left to do and it will be complete.
There was also some more work done in the basement!  Michael began to move the items around the "pass thru" opening in the wall from my studio to the shop.  This is where we are going to put a built in shelf unit to put my CD/cassette/radio with speakers which will clear up some room in another area.  Also removed the half shutters that were partially covering the opening.  This is exciting!

Day 283 - Painting a second coat

No photo tonight.  I painted the 3 Christmas ornament display racks a second coat of white paint.  Tonight Micaela glued on the red beads at the end of each dowel.   They look very nice.  I also got to help make some of the price tags for other botique items for sale.
