Got the first coat of paint on today. Might have to do something different around those drawer pulls as the pink is still showing through.

Endings and Beginnings
After a storm tonight I bet there was a rainbow somewhere. My folks are without power but we are fine. There is truth that Friday is the best day of the weekend. The entire 3 days loom ahead filled with anticipation and possibilities. The house is decorated with buntings and flags ready to celebrate the 4th of July. Instead of a movie I dug into my numerous boxes of dollhouse this and that. I found the little dresser I bought on sale for the childrens room and the punch out snap together toddlers bed. Here they are before anything is done to them. I think I have my work cut out for me! The dresser colors have to be changed and the bed has to be painted and bedding made.

Busy Day.
My last day of "underemployment" and I made good use of it. Drove to the folks house and my Mom and I pinned 3 of my quilt tops at her church.
This evening I worked on cutting fabric and filling the fabric cupboard for the sewingroom in the dollhouse. I think that it turned out well. The pieces are all cut to the size of one yard in miniature!
It was a good last day off.

Changes
Well, a couple of days ago our daughter left to work at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. I have thrown myself in reorganizing/cleaning my sewing room. What a mess! This is my 2nd day working on it. I had a SHELF of blue jean pieces from old jeans of the kids and decided it was time to cut it up or get rid of them. This was my starting pile.
This is my ending pile for the day.

Rainy, wet week of camping!
Stayed for 6 days at Bearhead Lake State Park by Ely, MN and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It rained for all but one day of the week! Here was our campsite. The conversation of the week was figuring out wether or not it was raining, drizzling, or misting....
Wild lupine at its peak growing in the ditches.
Spent about 4 hours one wet day at the International Wolf Center which was fascinating. There were 2 wolves that you could watch in their 1 1/2 acre natural habitat. Many speakers, movies and informational displays to take in also.
Also visited the Soudan Underground Mine State Park.
Did some yo-yos, cross stitch, reading. Our one sunny day Micaela went kayaking on Bearhead Lake. We saw loons, deer, and a bald eagle. She saw fish jumping in the lake.
As we packed up to leave, Micaela made a fairy house to leave at our campsite.

2011 MN Quilt Show-St Paul RiverCenter
Today my friend Lois and my daughter Micaela (her first time) went to the MN quilt show. As usual, there were so many things to be seen and the quilts were outstanding! Here are a couple of my favorites.

Here are a couple of photos of the dollhouse with the lights turned on.
Aren't the lights just fabulous?!
