The weekend

Saturday morning I spent going to CJ Banks warehouse sale and bought 4 shirts for 20.00 and a belt for Micaela for 2.00.  Then on to quilting group at church.  We are beginning to put together the quilts for missions so they are ready for the quilting bee in May.  These are the quilts that were sewn together this morning. (Sorry the photo is blurry.)

I was sent home another huge bag of small fabric scraps again....

did do some cutting on them this weekend also.

Uncovered the T@B trailer and will have to do some repairs on the cover.  Here it is sitting in the diningroom on the floor until I get to it.

Here is our little trailer uncovered from winter looking at the backyard from our window.

Tomorrow evening we have quilting again at church and these 5 tops will go to be completed and given to missions. 

Lastly, I am going to sew a skirt for Micaela.   Here is the pattern.

This is the first piece pinned and ready to cut.  Can't remember the last time I sewed a piece of clothing.  I have never made anything with a border print.  This pattern is not made for a border print so I am on my own for altering it... Should be interesting.

Day 360 - Let the Cutting begin!

Busy day with a family gathering for lunch...out of my bedroom window I can see our little trailer and the snow has begun to melt off the top!  It got into the 40's today! Those are rabbit tracks to the trailer!

Those bags of fabric I brought home yesterday from church are calling

so I did some cutting today.

Even sitting next to the iron Pete still had a cold nose.

Day 326 - The Planning Stage

I remembered today I told Michael I would make one more quilt for the T@B trailer.  It would have to somewhat match the Camping Quilt that I made for him to cover the feather bed in the trailer.  So this evening was the beginning of the planning stage- the thought process.  The quilt will be smaller than the first- more of a one person than a queen size.  These are the quilt books that I looked through tonight.

Day 142 - Camping pillowcases

I made the 2 new camping pillowcases this morning and got them in the trailer without Michael seeing them.  He was surprized when we brought out the camping quilt and they were there already!  He liked them.

Day 94 - Easter, Quilt Binding

What a wonderful Easter!  Look at these Easter flowers from my daughter!

Michael had a little time in the late afternoon to begin to check on the T@B trailer.

Pete enjoyed some trailer time also.

I trimmed the baby quilt, cut some binding and have begun to hand sew the back on.

Day 74 - Baby Quilt

Did a bit of sewing tonight and got 4 more blocks together.  Thought it was 9:00 and turns out it really was 10 as I hadn't changed this clock by my sewing machine! (Did I mention that the crazy black and white pattern in so many of my photos is my ironing board cover?)

I also wanted to share the fabrics that I found yesterday at Mill End Textiles for 1.50 and 1.99 a yard:

The beige print on the left will be the backing for the camping quilt for our T@B trailer.

The pink cars and gas pumps was to go with the trailer print I bought online.  It is a Michael Miller fabric which is what the trailer print is.  Most likely will do 2 pillow cases.

The overall bright pink print will be the back of the current baby quilt that I am working on.

These 3 star flannels will be the back of church baby quilts (but now I don't think I bought enough to back a good size baby quilt).

And last are these first 3 from the left- needed a small amount of a good orange and teal, couldn't resist a half yard of the jacks print and did get enough of the olive green for a quilt backing.

Wow, what a steal!!! And aren't they lovely all folded so nicely?

Day 19 - Quilt Camping

I squared up the 12 embroidered blocks that I have and it looks like they are 4" squares.  I started to cut some of the homespun fabrics I had chosen from my stash also into 4" squares. Somewhere I think I wrote down  the dimensions of our T@B trailer bed that this quilt will be on but not sure where I put it (and currently the T@B is in the backyard covered with snow)...more to cut and press.  Feels good to be onto the next phase of this quilt!  I do remain pleased with the colors chosen so far...

Basement/studio update: my husband now has 3 additional light fixtures mounted in between the ceiling joists. They are not wired in or working yet- but it is progress!

Day 1 - Quilt Embroidery- Camping Quilt

Stitched the snow covered mountains today. This will become the center of Michael's camping quilt for our T@B trailer. Have already stitched 12 5" blocks for this quilt.
