Day 342 - Christmas gift tags

I finished cutting up that big stack of free Christmas cards into gift labels.
I am continuing to inventory all of Michaels
Yellowstone National Park collection.  I have been
meaning to do this for years and with the possible
redecorating of our family room and having to take
most of them down off the walls it seems like a good time
to get to it.  Here are just a couple.

A cedar box, china plate, and guest soap from the hotel in the 1970's.

Day 320 - Happy New Year.

Well, this New Year has come in very interesting and different for me.  I will share more about that later...
I have had to set the counted cross stitch aside for a bit as my carpel tunnel has flared up.  So close to finishing too! But tonight I did a fun paper craft for about 3 hours.  At market in November I acquired a huge box of Christmas cards.

I picked them up for free and here is why- besides not having any envelopes
each one had a huge, non-removable sticker on the back.

After about 3 hours of cutting (wearing my wrist support)
 I have the
pile down to about an inch and a half.
I now have made about 125
Christmas gift tags from those cards!!!

A fun way to repurpose something that was free!
Only 45 days left to go to reach 365!

Day 66 - Repurposing a pillow sham

Bought this quilted (in China) pillow sham for .99 at a thrift shop. Perfect colors and condition. Cut off the back and hand sewed a narrow seam.  Now I will use it for a table covering!
This is the front of the pillow sham...

Here is the back of the pillow sham...

And the back when I was done cutting and sewing a narrow hem...

Also got to go to the races today and watch our son do some off road racing.  Here is the car when he got home before it was washed...

Day 63 - Planning/Inspiration

There is so much joy in going to a fabric store, finding a designer fabric for only 4.99 a yard, having a coupon along for 40% off and getting that fabric for 2.99 a yard!!!!! Wow! What a rush! It doesn't get any better than this!  I found Susan Branch fabric at Mill End and here are my finds: two coordinates from the In Love With Nature series and the Tea Party fabric I actually got for 2.50 a yard...so much running through my brain now about what kind of quilts to make....
The yellow Tea Party fabric was my new find- the coordinates I have been collecting...

Tonight was an Archivers night and we talked about beaded flowers and I shared a book on making them and discussed  making a curtain out of this antique/thrift store find tablecloth.

Day 3 - Decoupage a chair

So I am working on a repurposed chair (without a back) to use in my sewing room. Base is painted white and the top is decoupaged. Not done yet. Want to add a couple of quotes around the edge of the seat.
